The Young Americans for Liberty and Students for Sensible Drug Policy will be hosting an event entitled “The War on Drugs: A Night of Perspective” on Thursday, April 19th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the University Center 116. During the event, representatives from the Criminal Justice program and the Student Psychology Association will be actively participating in a panel discussion about the current war on drugs in the U.S. Young Americans for Liberty would like students to gain perspective on the current situation, find out what kinds of opinions and strategies there are to this problem, and begin to shape their own opinions based on facts.
Whether it’s family members gripped by addiction or friends needing pain relief for their cancer, all of us have been affected by the drug war. Because of this event’s timely manner, being near a major drug holiday, students will be interested in having an in-depth, honest conversation about the way we deal with the uses, related crime, and social stances on drugs.
