Would you like to read to a patient who can no longer see the pages? Play cards with someone who is lonely? Watch a Tigers game with a patient while their spouse goes out to get groceries? Sing with or play a favorite hymn on the piano for a patient that can
no longer attend church services? Review a photo album with someone who wants to remember a favorite trip or document a life story for someone who wants to leave their stories behind for their loved ones?Spectrum Health Hospice is looking for 15-20 volunteers that are interested in supporting their patients through the compassionate donation of time and caring. They provide the training that you need.

Spectrum Health Hospice is currently registering for Fall Big Rapids Volunteer Training to be held 9/21, 9/28 and 10/5 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital.

Requirements include: complete volunteer training course, 2 references, criminal background check, fingerprinting, 2 TB’s, flu shot, immunization review. All requirements are built into training class and all costs are covered by Spectrum Health Hospice.
