Here’s what’s happening in Honors!
Lunch and Learns
Tuesday, October 9 at 11 AM in Pickell: The Science of Happiness Lab. Rita Damari will discuss practical and research-tested activities for tapping into and nurturing your own emotional well-being. Register here. Update: Unfortunately, the Tuesday Lunch and Learn has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
Thursday, October 11 at 11 AM in Pickell: The Global Competency Certificate Program at Ferris. Come sample Indian food and learn about how you can be part of the Global Competency Collaborative and earn a co-curricular certificate. Through the GCCP, you will gain global knowledge and skills through experiential learning opportunities. Register here.
The spring course schedule is available! To see honors course offerings, go to Lookup Classes on Ferris.edu on the Academics tab or on MyFSU on MyRegistration. Select the semester and do an advanced search. Highlight all the subject matters and select “Honors Course” under Attribute Type. You can also see a list of honors classes on our blog here. Honors registration is on October 29.
As a rule of thumb, students who started in Honors in Fall 2016 or later should plan to take an honors course or do an honors contract each semester. Email Cathy at CathyBordeau@ferris.edu if you are unsure what you need for honors credits.
Honors Student Association
It is almost time to elect new members of the Honors Peer Mentor Program committee! All positions are open for the 2019 year: president, vice president, social media coordinator, Fun Day coordinator(s), and general members. This is a great way to stay involved in the Honors Program and gain leadership experience. We invite you to join us at the next committee meeting on October 14 at 6 PM in FLITE 133.
Leadership and Service
