On Thursday, November 15th at 7:30 PM in SCI 102, the finals for the Annual Honors Public Speaking Competition will be held. Since its inception 16 years ago, this contest has celebrated both rhetorical excellence and the Honors Program itself. We wish to extend an invitation to you to join us in this compelling competition. Students from the dedicated Honors Public speaking classes will compete in preliminary rounds earlier in the evening.
The honors students tend to perform well as a rule, but put them in a competition and amazing things happen! The event itself is a tight one-hour activity which is invariably well-attended and will feature the top four eight minute speeches on open topics.
Classes such as, Honors 100, may give extra credit, and this event will be considered a cultural event. Come on out and support your fellow Honors students. Be sure to enter the event in on HonorsPath!
