Here’s what’s new in Honors:
Lunch and Learns
Tuesday, January 29 11 – 11:50 AM, Pickell Conference Room: How to Become a Reading Tutor in Big Rapids. Suzanne Finney, the curriculum and instruction manager at SLD Read, will explain how you can get either a volunteer or a paid position as a reading tutor. SLD Read, a nonprofit with a branch in Big Rapids, provides extensive training and places tutors primarily in local schools.
As always, we will serve Jet’s pizza. It is fine if you arrive a little late or leave a little early. Please register here.
Dr. Bradley has scheduled a meeting with third-year Honors students or anyone who is one year away from finishing on Tuesday, January 29 from 11 to 11:50 in Science 120.
We understand that you may have class right before or right after; it is fine to arrive late or leave early. You are also welcome to work individually with Cathy at any time for help with anything related to the Honors Program.

Graduating this Spring?
If you are graduating from Ferris this spring and have completed or will complete the Honors Program this semester, please email Cathy at CathyBordeau@ferris.eduto let her know so your completion of the Honors Program appears in the commencement program.
Finding Service Opportunities
In addition to our blog, www.ferrishonors.com, check out the Volunteer Center portal on OrgSync, which is on MyFSU. The Volunteer Center link is under My Memberships (the icon with three people).
If you choose to do an honors contract this semester, it will be due by February 1. You will find the electronic form for honors contracts on Honors Path.
