Lunch and Learn: Help Research Parkinson's Disease at Ferris

Join Dr. Jennifer Lamberts of the College of Pharmacy on Thursday, February 20 at 11 AM in Pickell to learn about two of her ongoing projects in the lab. The first explores the role of neuroinflammation in developing Parkinson’s disease. Her research is focused on creating a model of inflammation-induced neuronal injury and then evaluating the ability of novel compounds to reverse the injury. The second examines the role of purine molecules in Parkinson’s disease. Purine molecules may or may not be involved in the development of Parkinson’s disease. In addition, measuring purine molecules in the blood may be an effective means to diagnose and/or prognose Parkinson’s disease. She will also talk about her academic journey (how she got into research and academia) and about how students can get involved in research in her lab.

It is fine if you arrive a little late or leave a little early. We will serve pizza from Jet’s. If you need accommodations to attend, please contact us at 231-591-2811.
