Dear Honors Students,
We’d like to provide you with specific information from the Honors Program following President Eisler’s suspension of face-to-face courses and his instruction that students who travelled during Spring Break should remain home or at their permanent residence due to COVID-19. The Honors Program office will continue to remain open during this period.

Communication
As always, the best way to contact us for longer questions is by sending an email. If you have an advising question, you’re welcome to contact Cathy at CathyBordeau@ferris.edu. Otherwise, you can email us at honors@ferris.edu. We all monitor this inbox, so your query will get routed to the correct person. If you have a quick question, or need an immediate response, you can call the office during normal business hours at (231) 591 2216. If the call goes to voice mail, it is likely that we are in a meeting or on another line, so leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Our other forms of communication will continue, including the blog (http://ferrishonors.com), Twitter (@ferrishonors) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/FerrisHonors/). You can direct message us or use Facebook Messenger to contact us directly. Instagram and Snapchat will be monitored less closely, so try the other methods first.
We also have a presence on Discord (https://discord.gg/HtKmnJd) and Google Hangouts as ferrishonors@gmail.com.
Any official announcements from the Honors office will be posted on the blog and routed to Facebook, Twitter and Discord.
MEHA 2020 Conference
The MEHA 2020 conference has been cancelled, although we will be exploring virtual opportunities over the next week to see if we can still provide student presenters an option to feature their good works.
Student Employees
If you are a student employee and were away during spring break, it is not necessary that you return to your campus employment at this time. If this causes a financial hardship for you, the university will assist you. Please contact the Financial Aid office for assistance at (231) 591-2100.
For students who work within the Honors Program office, we will be providing details of work activities you may be able to perform virtually and establishing ways that we can communicate by chat.
Co-curricular Activities & Completion
You are welcome to fulfill your cultural event and service commitments while you are away from campus. We will be sending a separate email soon with different options that will allow you to do that while avoiding being out with other people.
Stay healthy—stay safe! We’ll see you in a couple of weeks.

Dr. Cathy Bordeau, Honors Program Advisor
