Professor Pasquale Di Raddo will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on Thursday, February 11th entitled “Art in Action: Cartoon Depictions of the Cold War.” During his presentation, Professor Di Raddo will discuss the use of cartoon imagery’s effects on the relationship between the USA and the USSR after World War II. Below is a short description of what this Lunch & Learn will cover.
“In the aftermath of the Second World War the relationship between the USA and the USSR became saturated with hostilities, intrigue and suspicion. In this talk some of the major events of the period (1946-1991) will be recounted using the art of cartoon imagery. Pictures are indeed worth a thousand words.”
