Opportunities to volunteer at the holidays are plentiful
The holidays are a great time to volunteer as many places are in need of extra volunteers, but does this cause us to forget about the extent of need for volunteers during the non-holiday? The article above speaks to that year round need many organizations need. This is not deter you from ringing the Salvation Army bell’s or neglect the soup kitchen during Thanksgiving, but to remember to volunteer year round. The need for volunteers never disappears and the giving spirit shouldn’t leave us when the holiday season is over.
Remember your local food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and nonprofits during the entirety of year. Big Rapids has all of these organizations and many of them need help all the time (see document below for more information).
