What are you going to do with your life? How should you live your life? What are the keys to human flourishing and happiness? How do you cope with failure when it occurs? What therapeutic guidance can philosophy provide us in striving after tranquility and happiness? This course is guided by the assumption that the humanities are more about a way of life than about learning facts, dates, and theories. Drawing upon a mix of genres (literature, film, psychology, and philosophy), students will sample classic and recent arguments regarding the challenge of living a good life–all in an effort to make sense of their own life projects.
