Spectrum Health is looking for volunteers to help at hospices throughout the area. They will be hosting the Spectrum Health Hospice training in July in Big Rapids.
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the patient by providing relief for the caregiver, friendly visits, music (vocal and instrumental), life story review, haircuts and much more. You can help reassure an end-of-life patient that someone in their community cares about them. Hospice supports patients in a wide geographic area research 9 counties. Spectrum Health volunteers select the geographic area that they would like to serve. Additional volunteers are especially needed for Mecosta, Newaygo, and Osceola county areas.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact Yvonne Elliott at Yvonne.Elliott@spectrumhealth.org or call 616-391-4240.
